About Buganda Colorado, Heritage Development Fund
Our Story.
Founded in 2014 by Chairman Mr. Moses Ddamulira, along with Mr. D. C Kiyemba, Mr. Twaha Ntege, Florence Mwagle, and Esther Lyles, the Colorado Buganda Heritage Fund was born out of a shared vision: to preserve our cultural heritage and empower future generations with a strong sense of identity.
Operating in the Aurora–Denver area, we aim to strengthen Ugandan communities through programs that build confidence, intellectual wellbeing, and a deep-rooted sense of belonging.
We Listen, Think Independently, Advise & Take Action
Our Mission
To empower Ugandan youth by connecting them to their cultural roots, building confidence, and equipping them with skills that enhance their quality of life.
Programs
Luganda Language Program
Our flagship program teaches the Luganda language—from basic to advanced levels. Students progress from learning foundational vocabulary to developing strong reading, writing, and speaking skills.
Duration: 2 years
Outcome: Improved language proficiency, increased self-confidence, and enhanced cultural identity.
After completion, we evaluate the impact and work to scale the program across other communities we serve.
Why Our Work Matters
Many young Ugandans in the diaspora face educational and social challenges due to a lack of cultural connection. Our programs offer a lifeline to:
Reconnect with their heritage
Strengthen intellectual wellbeing
Build lasting pride and confidence
Create empowered, culturally rooted individuals
Goals and objectives
The overarching goal of Colorado Buganda Heritage Fund is to empower Ugandan children living in Colorado by providing educational materials of the Ugandan Culture. They will learn the Luganda language, art, dance and cultural norms. The big picture objective is to coach our kids of life skills and coping in the American Culture. This coaching involves etiquette, self care and improvement and well as promoting culinary art skills.

Omubaka

- Raising awareness about Buganda’s rich Culture
- Mobilize Community members to participate in cultural activities
